In the lobby of the Dix Hills Rink we have a USMC “Toys for Tots” drive going on sponsored by Northport / Huntington Ice Hockey Club. They will be having a pickup on December 11th. After that for any remaining toys we will have a NY Rangers “Toys for Tots” box in the lobby. As all of you know, The “Toys for Tots” drive is a great cause. I am asking all organizations who use the ice rink to support this cause this holiday season. Anyone who wants to participate, the USMC is asking for any new and unwrapped toy to be donated.

Nothing we do can stop Buddy Skate from being Great. After several date changes and then having to schedule it on a Thursday night Buddy Skate was once again great.
There are so many parents, players and volunteers involved we never get to say thank you to everyone. Thank-you for making it a special day for so many.

The Dix Hills Hawks just completed a very successful weekend at the Columbus Day weekend at the Wallingford tournament. The Pee Wee and Bantam teams both won their div
isional championship and the M16 team lost in the finals. All teams represented the ice rink and organization with nothing but class.
Pee Wee’s
The Pee Wee team completed the weekend with a perfect 5-0 record. Team was sufficient in theoffensive zone but more impressively was the tenacious defense and positional
hockey it played allweekend long. In the preliminary round team outscored its opponents 23 – 1, but the playoff round got a lot tougher. Team won its semi-final game vs Yale 5-2 and completed its perfect weekend with a 3-2 victory over the host Wallingford Hawks in the finals .
Bantam
The squad successfully defended their championship from last year with a thrilling 4-0
run through the tournament. With only a few practices and gam es under their belts, the bantams came together
like a well-oiled machine, culminating in a decisive victory in the Championship game on Monday, defeating the Southern Stars 6-1. The coaches were so proud of the boys, as this achievement was a full-team effort, with every member of the team contributing to the victories in some way.
Midget 16
Team finished the annual Wallingford Columbus Weekend tournament with a 4-1 record, scoring 17 goals and only allowing 5 in the entire tournament. In the Midget 16 final, the Hawks went down 3 to 0 in midway through the game but
refused to quit and took back control of the game by scoring 2 goals with 10 minutes left. In the last 5 minutes of the game the Hawks hit the post 2 times but fell just short of tying the game and lost 3 to 2 in the finals
